2011 Year of the Dubstep ???

No blister update today guys as my hand is exactly the same as yesterday, sorry to those who look forward to these updates, but there should be one tomorrow, so no need to fear.

Firstly, massive congratulations for Jamie Duffield for discovering Dubstep, i'm a massive fan of the genre as well as Drum and Bass so please keep digging into the genre mate and you'll only keep finding more and more music that you'll love. The genre has been around since the 00's in small clubs in London after break away artists from the "garage" scene and has finally emerged into the public eye this summer with artists now having dubstep as a backbeat. For example, the widely know song and personally, someone who i reckon will own 2011 in the music scene, Katy B - Katy on a Mission.

But no wait there is more music coming your way, after losing my iPod nano, i tuned into Radio 1 and heard new band, The Vaccines, and i predict big things for these guys. What do you lot think of them? Below is the offical music video, of the song The Vaccines - Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)

Finally, one last video, especially to fill the taste buds of Big G, Wretch 32 - Traktor.

But another couple people to look out for are, Jamie Woon, Yuck, and Nero. So just a few people who i think could do well next year in music after hearing them on youtube and a couple radio stations listening late at night whilst driving back from Plymouth at 11pm at night .

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

First of all, many apologies for the lack of blogging working at Comet has made me really tired after working for nearly 11 hours straight and today is my first day off for 6 days. So i apologise to you 4 avid followers of mine :)

Ok so blister update, with the rest of the skin on the palm of my hand gone, after it the skin had dried up, so it's now all pink, tender and smooth, but some scabs from where the skin has been worse off. The same about the skin on parts of my fingers, the skin has dried up and come off and is very smooth and tender as well, but no scabs which is a bonus. Have a look.

Day 13
Now to the main blog. With 1 NFL game left tonight, it looks almost certain that i'm in the final in my debut season in the fantasy leagues after beating (at the moment) Fairyland Fighting Faires by nearly 3-4 touchdowns at least, next opponent in the final Ryan's All Stars, be warned i'm going with all guns blazing

With christmas only 5 days away and with new year around the corner i've decided to come up with an early new year's resolution after i successfully did this year's resolution. * Dramatic Pause * To learn how to play the guitar and come up with my own gig set with the aim to support local band Ricky & The Pigeons at local gigs this year. It shouldn't be too hard to learn I hope, it should be just a lot of practice in my free time and buying a cheap old acoustic guitar and a lot of self teaching. So Wade, Big G and co if your listening and reading, any sort of help would be hugely grateful.

Have a Merry "Hoffy" Christmas

HELP ME PLEASE BEFORE I DO SOMETHING CRAZY!

Apologies to all about the white background to the text on my last post, but i can't seem to get rid of it, any help to get rid of it is much appriciated. Also can someone please help me get my blogger to go on to twitterfeed so it goes on my facebook! I'm really struggling on how to do something so simple, but aparently it is posting on my facebook according to the website, when it clearly isn't!!! So this is a call to any computer wizz, such as Jamie Duffield ;),  who has been blogging and knows how to use the website twitterfeed, help me, i can offer a chilling out session in a "hot tub" free food and a classic, legendary Tom Wood hug.

Tom "HELP ME GOD DAMMIT SOON" Wood

Yes Ricky, Cincinnati does suck!

(Fingers crossed this goes to twitterfeed!) Another blog, another blister update for you to enjoy. Welcome to Day 8 early morning (my last post) and Day 9 pictures. Needless to say I know praise my right hand and all its usefulness, but now comes the "skin leperacy" aptly named by my mother. Usually you would get one word out of your siblings in the early hours of the morning called 8am this morning i got a lot more than 1 word, what i got was "Wow! Your hand looks like it is having some major skin leperachy" quotes from Oli, 12, my littlest brother, and from the itchiness from the peeling skin, i have got so far to take some of the dead skin off, very bad idea on my part, the scab is still yet to come which is going to be a massive pain in the arse!

Day 8 evening

Day 9 Evening

As the NFL season, or to some of you who don't know or can't be bothered to look it up on google or other search engines, the National Football League, is coming to a close and the playoffs are approaching, now comes the close of my debut fantasy season online with the sport, and with my a couple weeks ago making the "Playoffs" i was over the moon! Now my "Wood Chuckers"  beat "Big Rich's Broncos" who is a nice guy and literally a giant, so he's kinda pissed at me for the moment ^.^, i'm in the semi-finals and what does my star quarter back, Aaron Rogers, of the Green Bay Packers do, get's a bloody concussion, so i'm literally hoping on a miracle that i get past the semi-final and to the "Superbowl" of the Fantasy League i'm in and get major bragging points in the club. So Aaron Rogers, if you do read this, you're a massive bell-end and remember, you're role is to not get touched, dickwad! Ricky if you do read this, you'll probably laugh at my back up plan of Miami Dolphins Quarter Back Chad Henne being my plan b, so at least someone will understand my pain, kind off but i do think i can laugh at you though with the next part. To many of you who don't have an interest in "American" Football, please do start to jump on the band wagon so i can have many intelligent rants, raving, and team insulting, such as the Cincinnati Bengals being 2-11, wow Ricky, great team choice, they'll never win a Superbowl any time soon will they.

Another quick praise to Mr Patrick Turpin, i sir am loving the blogging at the moment, please sir, can i have some more?

The Audacity of People and their Complaints

Brief blister update, after the excitement of it bursting in the typical unspectacular fashion when helping the girlfriend at the gym, it now looks like a large deflated balloon. Due to sed activity, it has now given my hand movement again, for the first time in a week i can actually touch my pinkie finger with my thumb and not be in pain, oh and now i can write and type easier too :)

Day 7 Morning (Below)

Day 7 Evening (Below)

With the blister update done, i can continue. After a mind enthrawling evening of listening to BBC 5 Live Radio whilst driving, the utmost, stupid debate came on which inspired me to rant on about it tonight, and no it wasn't politics for a change. It was about the X factor. No not about Wagner, shame, or Katie Waisell, or some other random person who will likely fail in the music industry, but about the performance and dance routines of Christina Aguilera and Rihanna's seperate performance. With comments like "it was almost like a soft porn video" and "like a raunchy lap dance" coming from only women callers, I just laughed at the factor that how can people be so sad. I know that it was on a so called "Family show" and was played before the 9pm "Watershed" but seriously, get with the times ladies! Lets look at Strictly Come Dancing, more women who wear next to nothing along with most of the time, finely dressed men. For example, the picture below, we see Bredon Cole, and Ola Jordan (I think, i haven't watched the show since i saw Anne Widecombe on it, that scarred me for life!) Strictly is also a family show and is shown slightly before X Factor, and has recieved no large amounts of complaints about the costumes or routines.
Now have a look at what the "culprits" we wearing. (Apologies for the poor picture quality, that's what you get on the internet these days)

As much as they may look like the women's opinions are right, and i don't mean to sound sexist or stereotypical at all and i apologise if people do take offence, but modern times are changing and we are going to/or are in a time where it is the norm to go out and look sexy for women today, not being all covered up like victorian times. Also this has happened before and changed the music and entertainment history, one era has done this to some modern recollection, PUNK ROCK! Plus if you feel the need to take action, then your going to have to do this to all of music, dance, art or whatever, and that means taking on giants like MTV, Kerrang, Sony, EMI etc and tell them how to sell things to the globe, like they care or will listen. So please complainers, stuff your complaint up your own sphincter and chew on this, @%!>&* you

Shoop Da Woop! New Bedroom on it's way!

Blister Update - no significant increase in size, only the factor of it now leaking a sickly, very dehydrated urine yellow colour, which is like an old friend to me after my sunburn. But it's weaping slowly but surely, so it's on the mend and deflating like a balloon. Which is all and good, but now comes the whole waiting around for it to heal and scab over. Which is going to take another week or so. So still no gym activity, lifting or water bourne and contact sports. Sucks ass right now

Anyways back to the blog...

The beginnings of a new bedroom start today with the arrival of a flat packed wardrobe, which was kindly brought to my room by delievery men wearing those shoe covers so they didn't mess up the carpet. Thoughtful :) But the fact that there is over eight large pieces, taller and slightly wider than me may be a bit of a feat to build, so this may take a while. Afterwards/Meanwhile i build the new wardrobe, painting all the walls and tidy the pigstye known as my room is going to take a while.

So to entertain yourselves, here are some current/before photos of my room in the state it's currently in.

Well, like I said, it's not the cleanest of rooms, and only so much can be done being a uni student and working with the wrong hand only working at the current time.

Life, Times and Blisters

I know i keep saying that i'll keep blogging but i kind of forgot about my username and password to my old account, so i've decided to start anew, a new blog, new profile and new email :)

So let's get updated on what's occurring in the life of Tom Wood since his last post on his old profile.

  • Actually got somewhere in my love life
    • Been 'aquired' and 'dumped' then ;aquired' again by someone else ;)
    • And lost something very special too :P
  • Now coaching competitive lifesaving at university
  • Having the inability to type with my right hand for the moment
Yes, i'm currently typing this blog with my left hand due to my good willed nature. When en route to uni with the girlfriend, and about 5 mins from my house, we came across a guy who had been in a small car crash. He had gone to fast and lost the back end of his car and crashed into a mini wall and had blocked the whole of the road with his kit car. Bad times, so to help the guy out who was visibly shaken and bleeding slightly, myself and a group of randomers pushed the car from the road to the grass bank. Simple eh, as most of you would know, i'm accident prone, so i stupidly put my right hand on the exhaust, which is very hot and was outside of the car. So of course I burnt it, quite badly and is now being nursed with the utmost care, well, me not bothering to move it. Of course though, this isn't the first time i've been badly burnt and blistered, some may recall my sunburn where i was aptly nicknamed "Blister Boy" for the amount of blisters that covered my body, Neck to Elbow, Neck to Knees, so basically two thirds of my body, so i'm not complaining much compared to that. Now then, for those of you who are screamish please scroll down, as i'm now going to show you my hand in its current stage...

(Left) My hand after 3 days of tender loving care from the lifeguarding abilities of myself

Now my hand, today, after 5 days of tender loving care...

Some of you may see that it's grown, well duh! but there are blisters on my finger tips which suck like Alan O'Brien's ability to jabber on about how cool the Geology of Scotland is... Anyways fingers crossed that it heals soon as i'm struggling to write my coursework due in on 3 days :'( Bad times.
